180th International Instructor Course in Tampere, Finland September 13th to 15th, 2024.
Dear Grand Masters, Masters, Instructors and fellow black belt holders,
On behalf of ITF Taekwon-Do Finland and Black Eagle Taekwon-Do, we have the great pleasure of inviting you to the 180th International Instructor Course held in Tampere, Finland September 13th to 15th, 2024.
The course will be conducted by the Chairman of the ITF Technical Committee

The International Instructor Course is open to all ITF members 1st ‐ 9th degree. The ITF Promotion Committee will also be holding a 4th – 8th degree Black Belt Grading on Sunday September 15th.
The event is organized by Black Eagle Taekwon-Do, under the tutelage of the International Taekwon-Do Federation and ITF Taekwon-Do Finland.

Venue
The course will be held in Varala Sports Institute which is located just 5 mins drive from Tampere city center. The venue also hosted the IIC 2015 in Finland and the 40th Qualifying International Umpire Course.

The registration to the IIC is done in 2 separate parts:
Inscription to the course is done through the ITF Taekwon-Do Finland own database called TKDMAN. You can get the credentials by contacting lasse.kuusisto@taekwon-do.fi.
The participants must also register to the official ITF Online database. This is done through your national organization. Please make the registrations to ITF Online as soon as possible.
Last registration date is July 27th, 2024, but we recommend you register as soon as possible to secure your place.

- Registration Time: Thursday 18–21.00 (a later check in is planned for the ones arriving after 21.00 and informed us in advance) and Friday 11–12.00
- Location: Varala Sports Institute Reception
- Note: Payment receipt for the IIC payment needs to be requested by email to rahastonhoitaja@taekwon-do.fi . We will not provide receipts at registration.

Accommodation
We have made accommodation arrangements with Varala Sports Institute prices including full board. Due to the very tight schedule, we HIGHLY recommend booking your accommodation and meals though Varala as the location is quite remote from the closest restaurants and shops.

On Saturday evening we have a special banquet in restaurant Säde at 19.30 – 22:00.
Dress code: smart casual
If you don’t want to take part in the banquet, you can book a dinner from Varala instead. The dinner will be served in Cafe Anna starting at 17.30. Cafe Anna is also located in the main building of the Varala complex.
If you have special dietary restrictions, make sure to mark them when making your booking.
Payments
1- IIC course fee
IIC course fees are paid in Euros through your NA, AA or Club ONLY. No individual payments.
Please make sure that for the identification of the participant the following
information is provided alongside payment:
180th IIC 2024, ITF Club name , Country of origin, and number of participants (Information must match with information given in the entries in TKDMAN).
The total amount must be paid to the following account no later than August 30th, with all transfer fees at the expense of the sender.

Cancellations
- Organizer’s fee is non-refundable under any circumstances related to either traveling issues (visas, flight delays, etc.) or medical issues.
- 50% Banquet fee and Varala accommodation are refundable until August 5th, 2024.
- After August 5, 2024 there will be no refund for Banquet and Varala accommodation.
- 85% refund for IIC course fee.

Traveling to Tampere
The easiest way to travel from abroad to Tampere is by air. Tampere-Pirkkala airport is located only 18 km away from Varala so it will take less than 20 minutes by car.
There are also good train and bus connections from Helsinki Airport. Train from Helsinki Airport to Tampere takes only 1.5 – 2 hours and Tampere railway station is located in the city center less than 4 km from Varala.
- By car (as parking is limited, we ask you to come by car pooling if possible).
- By bus, the Nr 10 arrives almost in front of the training center (get off at Varala stop).

Protocol during training sessions
- Please be on time for line up (everyone should be in the hall at least 15mins before the start of the sessions).
- MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR PHONES SET ON SILENCE.
- If you are residing in Varala we ask you to please come already in dobok. For other participants, please make sure to leave your bags in the back of the hall against the wall.
- Line up in full dobok at the signal of the senior master present (10 persons per row).
- Please applaud when the technical committee enters the hall.
- When asking questions for the first time, please stand up, bow, introduce yourself (name and country), ask your question and remain standing while it is being answered.
- As time is limited and there is a lot to cover, we ask you not to enter into too exaggerated debates.
- English language will be used during the course, If you need translation, please sit near people that would be kind enough to translate for you (there will not be any literal translation provided).
- Make sure to cross your legs when seated, do not show the bottom of your feet at any time.
- While explanations are being given we ask for the courtesy of silence.
- Take this opportunity to exchange and meet new fellow practitioners.
- You are highly advised to take notes.
- IMPORTANT! You may take freely pictures during idle time in the hall, but NO PICTURES OR VIDEOS ARE ALLOWED DURING THE SESSIONS. Only our accredited photographer will be allowed to take pictures and videos during the event.
Equipment needed
- There will be a couple of kicking trainings. Black Eagle Taekwon-Do will provide some kick shields and floppy pads, please bring some from your own school (especially if you are coming from neighboring clubs), it will be highly appreciated. Please mark them clearly.
- Multiple doboks.
During your stay there will be a lady (Annika) who will be available to welcome you on Thursday and will be available for support during the whole weekend. Please be patient with her as well as all our volunteers. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us via email.
